This course is an intense study of advanced training to be an effective union leader and co-leader in your Agency and at the table (bargaining table, labor management forums, or on agency-led committees) while serving as a Union Official. This course is designed to focus on the diversity of the workplace, leadership attributes of others, and how to effectively resolve conflict at the table to improve the labor management relationship in the Agency and resolve issues for the bargaining unit effectively. 

  • Participants will be able to recall the key attributes of effective leadership, diversity considerations in the workplace, and basic conflict resolution techniques.
  • Participants will be able to explain the importance of diversity in the workplace, the attributes of effective leaders, and the role of conflict resolution in improving labor management relationships.
  • Participants will be able to apply coaching and mentoring techniques to support diverse leadership styles and effectively resolve conflicts in various scenarios.
  • Participants will be able to analyze different leadership styles and conflict scenarios to identify effective coaching and mentoring strategies.
